We are uberlife, designed to encourage more frequent, real-world hanging out with your network and new likeminded people around you.
Meeting up with friends can take a lot of pre-planning and pinging back and forth… uberlife is a simple, spontaneous and serendipitous way to find people to do things with, when you want to do them - a coffee, grabbing lunch, a quick beer after work or checking out that band you saw that's playing tonight.

About our place
We're designing, developing and hanging out in downtown London (Old Street), a big city in the heart of Europe. We're surrounded by the most beautiful food brands and several successful international startups.

Ruby on Rails Developer
We're looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails developer at uberlife.
We use Rails, MongoDB, jQuery to build our site on heroku and use github for source control. We also have a RESTful Rails API that powers the apps that are built to encourage hanging out, such as our own iPhone app.
We are located by Old St in downtown London, have a lovely office with friendly people and we all work hard. We use Agile scrum along with Lean startup principles to build our product.
Our development team is scattered around the world so you should feel comfortable working in such an environment where your remote teammates feel like you're there with them.
We love what we do and it doesn't feel like work. If you're a nice, friendly person who is technically solid, as well as with a passion for writing code and developing new products, we think we'll get along. If we can look at your code on github that's a big bonus.

Head of PR & Events Marketing

UX/UI Designer

We’re looking for an ambitious, talented UX/UI Designer to join our dynamic team and play a critical role in both bringing to life the next generation global CitySocialising site and service and help push our newest product uberlife forward.
You are looking for a genuine opportunity to innovate, influence strategy and define and lead user experience from the front and will be skilled at working smart and fast in an Agile environment creating beautiful online and mobile products that people will love to use.
You will be a champion of function and will also channel business requirements from Marketing to create a logical site architecture, compelling user flows and an all-round exciting,social, yet commercial, web and mobile experience. Your portfolio includes UX and UI experience on existing web and mobile apps that we can test drive.
The stakes are high and we are looking for no less than the best and someone who is an avid user of mobile apps. Also very important is your forward-thinking and sociable personality. Qualified candidates value craftsmanship, are intelligent, detail oriented, motivated, fast and dare to think differently.

Design Intern
uberlife and CitySocialising are looking for a bright and talented design intern with both conceptual and productional interest in digital design.
We offer a unique challenge to gain hands-on experience across 2 products with a wide range of possibilities for someone who is keen on creating innovative online projects as well as an opportunity to develop their graphic design skills.
You will work both independently and as part of a team with our Lead UX/UI designer and experienced web and mobile development team to be part of creating beautiful online and mobile products that people will love to use.
You have a great opportunity to create visually stunning, exciting and smart GUI designs, functional layouts and stunning graphic interfaces. A plus is to find someone who is able to integrate character in their designs and create unseen witty and wow brand experiences.
What is uberlife?
uberlife is a real world social network that encourages people to hang out and connect offline with their friends, peers and new likeminded people more frequently, spontaneously and serendipitously. Our vision is to develop a global community of open, warm and sociable folks who like hanging out and meeting new people, so that wherever we are or go in the world we'll always have someone to hang out with.
What is a hangout?
A hangout is a real world gathering of friends and new likeminded people. It could be for drinks, lunch, dinner, concerts, walks, festivals, anything goes!
How is this different than Facebook events and other meetup/event planning services?
Facebook events is a good way to organize planned events with your friends. uberlife allows you to create hangouts on the go, broadcast to your twitter and facebook networks, as well as the uberlife community in real time and based on your location. This way in addition to people from your existing network you will have the opportunity to meet new likeminded people from the uberlife community.
As required by other meetup services, in uberlife you don't need to deal with the time consuming group creation and maintenance which requires commitment and dedication on your part. uberlife makes it uber simple to create hangouts in real time and on the go, which takes only seconds. It's also very social, spontaneous and serendipitous as opposed to generic event planning services which are more utilitarian.
Why can't I just announce that I'm hanging out on Twitter and be done with it?
When you simply tweet out that you're hanging out, only people who follow you see your tweet. If you post it on uberlife, we allow you to post on Twitter and Facebook at the same time, as well as posting it to the uberlife community where likeminded people you don't know yet might discover and join you, resulting in new additions to your network. Also, when you create your hangout via uberlife you can attach the venue to display a map and directions, compile a list of everyone who wants to join you, add tags to recommend your hangout to likeminded uberlife users and post live comments and upload photos to your hangout whilst it's happening too.
What is a connector?
Connectors are people who connect people with each other in the real world through the hangouts they create. These good people help build relationships. You can be one too, simply be creating a hangout and gathering people from (or outside of) your network under the same roof.
What happens when someone follows me on uberlife?
When someone follows you, that means they are actually following your hangouts. They will be notified via email and iPhone notifications when you create hangouts. Also in their activity stream they will see your hangout related activity, like you've created or joined hangouts, comments you posted, photos you uploaded and connections you created.
How do you become friends with someone?
Friendship in uberlife can only be achieved after hanging out together in the real world. When two people follow each other and hang out in real life, they become uberlife friends.
Do you have an Android app?
At the moment we cover mobile with our iPhone app and an actual app-like mobile site which we believe will work great on your Android phone. We might build an Android app in the future.
